TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main responsibilities

Ensure safe and reliable completion of all ground operations activities.

• By ensuring that all requirements regarding safety, security, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency prescribed in local and international laws and regulations are adhered to
• By ensuring that customer’s needs and expectations are met
• By assisting other Cargolux stations in any operational related matter, whenever needed
• By monitoring work-processes and supervising Ground Handling agents, other service providers and trucking companies
• By ensuring compliance regarding safety and procedures with the provisions of the GOM, the Security Program manual and other corporate manuals and documents as applicable:

• By reporting any issue that could harm the safety of the personnel
• By wearing all PPE, such as shoes or boots, fluorescent jackets or vests and ear plugs, as required
• By reporting incidents/accidents

Supervise and co-ordinate warehouse/cargo handling activities.

• By monitoring, planning, coordinating warehouse/cargo and trucking activities
• By monitoring the GHA’s cargo acceptance, storage and handling/build up activities
• By giving instructions and monitoring the palletising of special cargo i.e., vehicles, heavy and off size, valuables according to the procedures specified in the GOM
• By filing handling reports in case of handling discrepancies
• By supporting tracing functions

Coordinate with Export Services

• By gathering special cargo information for temperature settings, overhang, or heavy cargo
• By checking for possible connecting cargo from another flight
• By checking the freight availability status and late acceptance of cargo is required
• By requesting the go ahead for final load planning

Coordinate with Import Services

• By checking if any oversized, heavy, or other cargo requiring special offload procedures or attention are on inbound flights

Coordinate Road Feeder Service (Trucking) activities.

• By planning and ordering trucks as per local requirements and volumes
• By co-ordinating flight and truck schedules with the trucking providers, GHA(s) and other stations
• By updating CV system with truck movement data
• Special truck (cooling, off-size, TAPA etc) coordination
• Coordination with various trucking companies
• Coordination of deliveries in LUX according to the slots

Provide support to customers

• By visiting factories on customer request for cargo inspection and handling/loading consulting
• By conferring with customers to make special cargo loadable

Coordinate ULD control activities

• By organizing/coordinating required ULD stock for the station to ensure always sufficient ULDs are available
• By organizing/coordinating the return of ULDs
• By reporting any damaged ULDs
• By organizing and supervising built up ULDs

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

• Secondary technical education or accomplished apprenticeship with focus on logistics or any other relevant field
• Previous experience in a warehouse or trucking environment will be considered as an advantage
• Interacting openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people, anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Feeling comfortable to work in a team as well as autonomously
• Strong time management skills and being able to take decisions within tight deadlines
• Ability to plan and prioritize work aligned with organizational goals
• Good analytical and organizational skills
• Fluency in written and spoken German and English
• Proficiency in MS Office
