Job Purpose

Maintaining school IT systems and SABIS® technologies and implementing the protocols and procedures associated with these technologies to ensure an effective, secure, and efficient school operation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Making sure to apply all security and infrastructure standards (backup, firewall security, Windows update, and others) as per the SABIS® policies in coordination with the IT Manager and the SABIS® HQ IT Infrastructure/Security teams
• Setting up and configuring hardware and network components (servers, cabinets, switches, workstations, thin clients, laptops, Smart Boards, tablets, Wi-Fi, and other equipment)
• Maintaining network infrastructure, data integrity, and backups
• Monitoring servers, networks, and computer systems for irregularities and performance issues
• Making sure that the data center’s equipment, such as servers and network equipment, is current on firmware and patches
• Addressing faults within the school system (Wi-Fi, network, Internet, servers, etc.) and making sure those faults are fixed
• Providing ongoing technical support for school users
• Verifying security standards by conducting system audits of implemented measures and running regular checks on network and data security
• Perform other IT-related tasks as they arise and as delegated by the IT Manager and the SABIS® HQ IT Infrastructure/Security teams
• Assigning work to and supervising the work of the Junior IT assistant

Ideal Requirements:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related field
• Native speaker or highly fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in working with the following required:
• Data Center Management, IT infrastructure, systems, network, and servers
• MS Operating Systems, Active Directory, Server, and User management
• Networks and Networks Security
• Database Management Systems
• Experience with Cisco or MCITP is preferred
